Sassy competing with Holly at the Regional finals

Well its all systems go until Holly returns on 31st March to join me for the show season so in the meantime I am rushed off my feet trying to keep up with all the horses. I have two excellent part time girls helping me in the mornings. I have fine tuned everything in the yard now so that it is easy for us to work in - Mike and Anne Prentice the owners of the yard have been extremely helpful in getting me settled in and Gemma Hall who works for them and events their horses has been a great person to work with.

Sassy jumping with Jo Geddes

Sassy (Sandrose Silk) competed with Holly at the Addington Regional Finals and did a very respectable test in the Open Novice scoring 65.12 but made a couple of expensive errors when she spooked at a flower pot finished 15th out of 39 starters. She has now returned to my yard and has settled in extremely well. She has been loving her jumping with Jo Geddes. She is a fantastic mare to work with as she is so intelligent and has got such a great engine - she will be a wonderful prospect for an ambitious rider. I have had several people interested in her so fingers crossed she will find a new home soon.

Millie has now been measured, had her teeth rasped, she has been clipped and had new front shoes put on so she is all ready to rock and roll now. She will be aimed at some early shows in April. I am also going to register her with the BSPS so that she can compete in Intermediate classes with Holly.

Harry is continuing to progress well and we will just take him slowly over the next few months as he is still such a young horse and still growing. He continues to have a great work ethic - fab!!

Toby is on course for his first show at Onley next weekend for his Royal International qualifier. The last day of the Warwickshire Hunt meet at Horley next Wednesday which is just down the road from our yard so I think we may well go out on a cheeky hack that day - they go over our land so it would be a shame to miss out!! He loves his hunting!

Bridgit continues to progress well and I am hoping to catch some of the late March shows with her - She was clipped two weeks ago so hopefully her coat will have come through enough by then.

Jenson arrives back on the yard tomorrow so as with Millie he will have his teeth done by Mark Slingsby and James Hiatt will be coming over to shoe him and then we will start getting him fit for his job. He is going to be aimed at Novice Hunter classes and hopefully the Royal International Lightweight hunter classes as well. He also has a lovely jump so he may also be able to fit in some novice workers as well!

I have also been off teaching in the afternoons and have started back riding Kenny for Denise as well. By the time I get home in the evenings its dinner bath and bed!! No time for any socialising! No - Jo is not boring, just a very tired bunny by the end of the day!!
