For sale: Lardizabalaa

May has been a busy month for me getting things sorted!! Daldorn Racing Bow has now been sold to the Bosomworths for their daughter Julia to ride in Intermediates and I would like to wish them all the success with this lovely horse. He was a dream to have around the yard, a pleasure to ride and yes I would love to have lots of him in my yard! In his place I have taken on Lardizabalaa a beautiful large hack for sale for Alan Lintott. He has a really fabulous temperament and is also a pleasure to ride and loves his hacking and jumping as well. I will probably campaign him at a few shows as well but if anyone is interested please give me a ring.

Millie is now recovering from her torn muscle in her armpit. She is now completely sound so will come back into work soon. I have had Annabelle Galt my horse physio checking her out frequently to assess her progress and hopefully within the next couple of weeks we can start off again. Having four year olds is always a balancing act - they love to play and do silly things out in the field and are just like small children so minor injuries do occasionally occur. I was so looking forward to bringing her out at Windsor in the Novice Hack class until that happened. Eileen Jenkin her owner is extremely understanding and we are looking forward to campaigning her shortly once we are over this hiccup.

Socialiser and Kate Hall in action at Addington

Sam has been going great guns with Kate and went to Addington last week and was 2nd in both his Preliminary tests with 70.43 and 68.63% which we were delighted with.

Unfortunately we are not able to campaign Hannah and Steph for the Royal International qualifiers as David and Lorraine Tatlow are judging the riding horse championships there which is disappointing for Steph. However we are getting all revved up for the HOYS qualifiers.

I have been busy going to teach Denise Bumford and Townend Hamish in preparation for Windsor and we were all thrilled to bits that they had a great ride there and finished third in their section of the Veteran class thus qualifying them for the Veteran Regional finals so a big well done to Denise for all that hard work!

At last we have heard from Jan Brouwer that Cambridge will be coming over next week - hopefully in time for Holly's birthday on the 2nd - now that's a great present for her. She has been pestering me virtually every day to find out when he arrives.

I now have some time to spend on Bridgit and hopefully I will be bringing her out at Midland Counties - Unfortunately as she is my own she has put on the back burner until I have had some time to spend on her. I am very excited about her - she really is very beautiful. She now has her new 'reeboks' kindly fitted by Barry Payne who used to shoe my lovely Broadstone Dee so I do hope he has sprinkled some magic dust on them for me! It was so nice to see Dee's novice riding horse baby Holtess D Day win the Novice Riding horse class at Windsor with Robert Walker. Dee was my horse of a lifetime and it is great to watch her progeny coming out and following in her footsteps. Hopefully one day I may be able to ride one of them myself.

Jenson - Man of Quality in winning form at Newbury

Jenson is continuing to go well and is going to Midland Counties to do the Winnergy Sport Horse qualifier. We have started jumping him (well Pip Taylor who owns the yard did!) and he shows a great aptitude. Pip has already put her mark on him for the eventing field! He is a real character on the yard and if he was a person would always be the practical joker - he has a great brain and really enjoys his parties.

I have just been given three lovely pairs of work breeches from Premier Equine to trial. They are extremely smart - I have two pairs in chocolate and one pair in anthracite colour - a big thank you to Clive Davies so with my Sueme clothing and Buff headwear I can hopefully look smart working in at the shows.

Sandrose Silks filly foal by Moviestar

Holly and I went to visit Ann Taylor last week to see Sassy's (Sandrose Silks) new filly foal by Moviestar. Sassy is not that impressed with motherhood and I think is looking forward to getting her career back after the foal is weaned. She has done a good job with her foal Fleur who looks extremely well and is really beautiful just like her mother!

A big congratulations to Sara Neachell and Blue Rondo who qualified last week for Horse of the Year show in the Retrained Racehorse class. We sold Ronnie a couple of years ago to Sara. He didn't do anything last year as she had a baby. Sara - if you are reading this a reminder to send me a photo for my web site!!!
