Brungrage Toby

It has now been three weeks since I last signed in to do my updates and as usual a busy time was had by all. Toby, Ginny Duncans highland competed in his first novice worker and absolutely loved it just having one fence down but is certainly game on to do some more! He was a little bit perplexed at first when he realised that straight showing wasn't the name of the game!

On the following Thursday we went to Rhett Birds and collected another 6 year old dressage horse called Warwick to produce and sell. He is 16hh, has the most fabulous athletic movement and a fantastic brain to match - what more can we ask for. Holly is really enjoying him. He has had his general MOT that is his teeth etc attended to and after 10 days work has completed transformed himself. An absolute picture! I think I shall have to drag Holly kicking and screaming off him - she has really clicked with him!

Daldorn Racing Bow

The next outing for the show horses was Midland Counties where we took Daldorn Racing Bow for the Royal International qualifier and Times Square for the Novice Riding Horse. As many of you may know this was not a day for the faint hearted - it absolutely poured with rain and our horses coped with complete professionalism for their four years. Bow was second in the qualifier. It really is quite a big ask for a young horse but he does seem to have a very mature head on his shoulders. Steph Haslam competed on Times Square (Alfie) for the first time and I was incredibly proud of the pair of them - they looked a real picture and Alfie was foot perfect, behaved beautifully for Steph and went immaculately for the judge and finished 4th.

In between shows I have been busy teaching and catching up with all the maintenance jobs that just seem to get lost in the wash.

Broadstone Dolce Vita

Broadstone Dolce Vita arrived on Saturday - she has come to me to be sold. It was an extremely hard decision for Anna her owner to make but she has decided that she really does not have the time to devote to her and achieve her potential. This mare has been her horse of a lifetime and she has owned her since a yearling when she bought her from us at Broadstone Stud so as you can imagine a very strong bond has been formed. I personally shall be gutted to see Dee (Dolce Vita) pass on as I have loved every minute of riding her - perhaps there is someone out there who wants me to carry on riding her?! She has so much still to offer, a very young mare still in her prime.

I have also just taken my lorry to have an overhaul of its ramp so not looking forward to the bill when it arrives back but it is so important to maintain the safety of these things when we are taking lovely horses out and about.

Thats all for now and I shall catch up with you all soon.
